EURELECTRIC Renewable energy is of primary importance in meeting the challenge of climate change and for security of supply. The Union of the Electricity Industry-EURELECTRIC supports the use of market mechanisms to increase the contribution to our energy supply from renewables. "Green power" is an ideal way to highlight the benefits to consumers, and EURELECTRIC supports progress in this direction. In particular, EURELECTRIC is delighted to participate in this 5th European Conference on Green Power Marketing 2007. The Conference will serve to raise the profile of this important topic in electricity production and marketing. Juho Lipponen, Head of Energy Policy & Generation at EURELECTRIC, Brussels |

RECS RECS believes in a strong, transparent and liquid market for renewable energy in Europe. In order to make the green energy market as transparent as possible RECS believes in international harmonised certificates systems. These systems facilitate the national and international markets and avoid double counting and double selling of green energy. We therefore believe that RECS is the right partner to the 5th European Conference on Green Power Marketing 2007. The development of the (voluntary) demand of green power in Europe and the implementation of certificate systems go hand in hand with each other. Peter Niermeijer, Secretary General RECS |
