IEA Renewable energy in its different forms has been an extensive subject of the IEA's technology co-operation programmes for many years. In recent renewable energy activities of the IEA, market implementation and awareness issues have received increased attention as technology has evolved towards industrial solutions. While technology development continues to be fostered, analysing, understanding and promoting efficient mechanisms to establish sustainable renewable energy markets have become a further issue of the IEA. The 2nd European Conference on Green Power Marketing 2002 provides a unique forum for new market oriented approaches and experiences in the field of green electricity and the IEA Renewable Energy Working Party is therefore happy to support this important event.

Spa and Tourist Office St. Moritz St. Moritz is fully committed to renewable energy, in the firm belief that the use of renewable resources helps safeguard nature and ensure a clean environment. This is a number-one priority for a tourist resort, especially one like St. Moritz, which requires a great deal of energy owing to its altitude and structure. The 2nd European Conference on Green Power Marketing 2002 is part of a broader project, Clean Energy St. Moritz, geared to a horizon of 8 to 10 years and designed to promote the use of energy from water, wind, solar and biomass resources.
